The New York Tri-state area is a region in the state of New York that is located south west of the state in Orange county, NY about a 90 minutes drive from the New York City metropolitan area. It is known for its beautiful natural landscapes, rivers, and seasonal amenities making it a popular tourist destination year round.


The City of Port Jervis located in the tri-state border area is the last stop on the Port Jervis Metro North line which goes to and from NYC's 34th street Penn Station. Many of our guests and visitors that are not able to drive take the train to Port Jervis and call for a taxi which conveniently takes them to our Montague, NJ vacation houses which are only 7 minutes away. Port Jervis offers beautiful mountain sceneries throughout the city including at Elks-Brox Memorial Park, and offers a unique small town feeling as you walk through the cities restaurants, stores, and rail station.

TRI-STATE ROCK

The Tri-States Monument is a memorial located in Port Jervis, New York, United States. It is a close promixity to a river frontage properties in Montague, NJ accessed thru river trailing from our river frontage. You are also able to see views of Eden Islands facing the monument towards the river. It marks the location where the states of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania meet at the confluence of the Delaware and Neversink rivers where the three states lines meet. The monument consists of a granite marker that stands on a stone base, and is inscribed with the names of the three states. The Tri-States Monument is a popular tourist attraction in the Tri-State area of NY, NJ and PA and is visited by thousands of people each year.

PORT JERVIS RAIL STATION

The Port Jervis Rail Station serves as an important transportation center to and from the New York City Metropolitan area into the Tri-state area.
The Port Jervis Metro North Rail Station is conveniently located just 7 minutes away from our Montague vacation homes with many guests taking the train and then taxi service from the rail station to our vacation homes.
The train ride offers scenic views in all the four seasons throughout the ride. Service to and from Port Jervis station and New York City’s 34th Street Penn Station is available all week and weekends.

ELKS-BROX PARK

This memorial park is only a 8-min drive from Montague, NJ. Magnificent view of the Neversink Valley and the Delaware River. A great place to see an overlook of Historic Port Jervis. Hiking trails, picnic and barbecue areas. Dawn-dusk. It is located in Port Jervis, New York. The park has several athletic fields and courts for sports such as basketball, tennis, and soccer, as well as a playground and picnic areas. The park also has a number of walking and biking trails, as well as a pond that is stocked with fish. 


LEGOLAND NEW YORK

Legoland New York is a theme park and resort located in Goshen, New York, about 60 miles and 25 minutes away from our Montague vacation homes. Many of our guests with their childrens that stay in our vacation homes enjoy visiting Legoland due to its close proximity.
 The resort features a theme park with more than 50 rides, shows, and attractions, as well as a water park, and dining and shopping options. Some of the popular attractions at Legoland New York include the Lego Factory Adventure, Lego Ninjago World, and the Lego Movie World. The resort is designed for families with children ages 2-12, and offers a range of activities and experiences for kids and adults to enjoy together. Legoland New York Resort is owned and operated by Merlin Entertainments, a global leader in location-based entertainment.

PENNINGS ORCHARD 

It is renowned for serving farm-fresh meals and is only a 36-minute drive from our Montague NJ vacation homes. 

Pennings Orchard is a family-owned farm located in Warwick, New York. It is a orchard and a farm market, offering a variety of fruits and vegetables grown on their own land, including apples, peaches, berries, and pumpkins, as well as homemade baked goods, jams, and cider. Pennings Orchard is a popular destination for families and people who enjoy outdoor activities and farm-fresh food. They also offer a variety of activities like pick your own, hayrides, farm tours and live music. They also have a farm-to-table restaurant and a cidery on the property.

Pennings Orchard is open seasonally, typically from late spring to early fall, and their hours of operation may vary depending on the time of year and the weather conditions. BOWLING AND AMUSEMENT

A 25-minute drive from our Montague NJ vacation homes, Round 1 offers activities that you and your family can enjoy with late night enjoyment as they close at 2:00AM.

Round1 is a chain of entertainment centers that offer a variety of recreational activities, including bowling, arcade games, karaoke, and more. The Middletown, New York location of Round1 is a popular destination for families and groups looking for fun things to do. The facility has a number of bowling lanes, as well as a variety of arcade games and other attractions. In addition to these amenities, the Middletown location also has a food court with a variety of dining options.


SILVER CANOE AND KAYAK

This destionation is only a 10-minute drive from our Montague, NJ vacation homes!

Silver canoe and whitewater rafting are both popular outdoor activities in New York. Silver canoeing is a type of canoeing that typically takes place on calm, flat water, such as on a lake or a slow-moving river. This type of canoeing can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels and is a great way to experience the natural beauty of New York's waterways.

Whitewater rafting, on the other hand, is a more adventurous and physically demanding activity that involves navigating through rapids and turbulent waters on a raft. New York State has many great whitewater rafting destinations, including the Adirondacks and the Catskill Mountains, which are home to some of the best whitewater rafting rivers in the northeastern United States. The rivers in this area range from easy Class I and II rapids for beginners to challenging Class IV and V rapids for experienced rafters.

Memory Lanes formerly known as Port Jervis bowl is a bowling alley located in Port Jervis, New York. It offers a variety of bowling leagues and open bowling for people of all ages and skill levels. It also offers birthday parties, corporate events and other special events.

It's a family-friendly establishment, with leagues for adult, youth and senior bowlers, as well as open bowling times for walk-ins. They have an automatic scoring system and modern equipment, making it a great place for a fun and entertaining day out.
